If my child were to be one of the tellers or workers at this so called Kiddie run credit union and doing this to learn financial matters, I would have particular concern with security of the funds and what happens if at the end of the day the books do not balance? Will my daughter be charged to repay the mistake? Will there be someone in charge from the credit union and if so what responsibilty do they have if funds are missing. In todays environment we see almost daily how fire companies, little leagues and even our sanitary authority and county offices were hoodwinked of thousands of dollars by adults in charge. I would not want to have my child in that environment to be suspect of anything. As honest as she is it does her no good to be accused and me having to hire an attorney to defend her honesty. Adults (school board members) are putting some of our children in jeopardy so they can repay a favor within the district. Sorry, leave my family out of your grandiose plans.

Just because something is legal doesn't mean is right. Elected Officals should start to use this theory.

That was the first Board meeting that I attended in which a member of the District recognized the fact that a Polcy Manual exists in the District. Maybe the school officials can begin utilizing it to gain some knowledge of they are suppose to run the District instead of how they want to run the District. Great job Frank! Can you show Mr. Bernardi where the manual is so he can become familiar with it and use it when performing his job? It's quite obvious that he and most other members of the board don't bother to use before making they're decisions.

WOW! Has anyone seen the very positive articles in the papers about the student run credit unions that have opened in our area in the last 2 years? Since when is financial literacy curricullum offered to help the students(and the teachers), credit union representatives coming in to speak to the students about the importance of saving, managing their money, credit scores etc. AND giving students the opportunity to work in the real world a bad thing? The positve rewards that these students and our community encounter outweigh the negative by a mile. What negative? There is NO negative It's all positive. It is a win win for all. I suggest we start looking at the facts. Student Run credit union branches are opened in schools to help students, not to hurt them.
