“Unacceptable,” Wyoming Board candidate Jerry Stofko responded when asked about his outburst, “Sir if you go there I will meet you outside.”
Stofko caught up with me after the Wyoming Area Board meeting and explained his actions at a meeting two months ago.
As you know, a couple months back, Stofko shot back at Board Member Frank Cassarealla after Cassarella mumbled under his breath, “ask him (Stofko) where the rebar is.”
Stofko is the stepfather of former board member Gerry Wall and allegations of missing rebar have run rampant over the last two years..
“While he is my step son (Gerry Wall), he’s like my son and I took exception because Gerry is family,” Stofko said.
“I went up to Frank after the meeting and worked things out,” Stofko told me at this past meeting.
During this time, Cassarella came up to me and said, “Yes, Mr. Stofko and I are OK. We did work things out.”
When Stofko said his outburst was unacceptable he also noted he’s not like that and always conducts himself in a professional manner.
It gives me great comfort to know Stofko and Cassarella “worked things out.” And from what I observed, they are best buds now and are singing kumbaya in perfect harmony.
That’s amazing, because at that same meeting Stofko said, “I’ve been attacked by Frankie down there, that’s what I’m going to call him because to me that’s all he is, a little boy.”
I have to admit, I was taken aback a bit when Stofko came up to me because I don’t think Mr. Stofko said two words to me since I’ve been covering Wyoming Area.

There was never a bad peace or a good war.Estelle should sell baloney instead of incense, she fooled alot of people. In fact voted for two relatives and she's against Nepotism. Go figure! I'll take 100 Dr. Cassarellas and you can take the utopian theatrical queen.

Yo Dude, that is totally radical man.

Hey Joe, what's up with you? Don't go softie on Softko. The man has no place on a School Board, along with the two he's running with. Character and ethics should be the winning ticket this time around.

I take great pride in knowing what board members really look out for the kids and taxpayers and those are the ones I vote for. I have always supported Dr. Campenni and cannot remember her ever hiring a family member. If she did, she will loose my support. Ram1, what family member did she hire and when so I know. Thanks.
By: WAwatcher on 4/4/11
Dear Ram1, I am very interested to know what two relatives she voted for. Please be sure to have proof of your allegations.
By: Ram1 on 4/4/11
Geez! I thought both the daughters of Sam Aritz, who married a Campenni, received jobs. Didn't Dr. Campenni vote for these??
By: jailumall on 4/5/11
Since I didn't hear back from Ram1, I took it upon myself to find out the facts. My wife spoke to Dr. Campenni and the only thing she could make of the allegation was her vote to hire Sam Aritz's daughters as teachers. If this is the hire that Ram1 is talking about...try again. The two girls in question are Dr. Campenni's third cousins. In Greater Pittston, everyone is a third cousin.
I also foud out from my wife's conversation with Dr. Campenni that the ticket she is running with is currently preparing a no nepotism policy that will mirror the policy enacted years ago and then recinded by Valenti and crew in order to make way for hiring their children, sisters, brothers, and nephews, not third cousins.
Ram1, I hope that you were only misled by the propaganda machine of Valenti.

I believe she voted for Sam Aritz 2 daughters who are related to her. Im sure its ez to check the minutes of the meetings.
She voted against funding the ice hockey team but had the nerve to attend the banquet looking for votes this past week...and thats a FACT!!!

Working in private business, I am able to inform you that family is considered to be parents, parents in law, siblings, neices nephews and children. No stipulations, benefits or considerations are afforded to cousins. Aritz's daughters got jobs on thier first days out of college not because of Dr. Campenni's vote. That was Sam's reward for bolstering the LaNunziata/Valenti platform when they needed a candidate to fill thier ticket and hold a majority. Interested in the district? I think not. You will never see his name on the ballot again.

Ram 1 is correct, Campenni did vote for the hiring of Sam Aritz's daughters. M.Akesense and Jailumall are also correct in saying that these were distant relations. I am confused as to why Ram1 seems to be focusing on the hiring of a distant relation and not focusing on the sisters, brothers, wifes, children and nephews that have been hired. Perhaps the individual you are supporting is guilty of nepotism and this is a veiled attempt to roll Campenni into the debate. Sorry, try again.
By: Ram1 on 4/6/11
Estelle Campenni voted for her 2 cousins plain and simple. She also knew that they were the daughters of a fellow board member. Why didn't she simply abstain if she was related in anyway? Yes, someone put long hours in subbing everyday for one of the positions. That apparently didn't matter to Catherine Estelle. Jailumall, I could be wrong, but I thought you stated Campenni would lose your support if she was related. Many second and third cousins are closer than first cousins. Could this be a case in point?

Gee, someone seems to have a wild hair up their butt over hiring practices by one of the few board members who aren't interested in currying favor or who owes a favor. I wonder why and what this RAM person's motives are??? If you have a beef with her, settle it personally if you dare. If you are trying to create smoke screens and confusion to divert attention from all the other blatant wrong-doing by other candidates, I believe you are a day late (insert remaining cliche') Please return to your ignominity.
By: watchdog1 on 4/7/11
Ram1, I did say that I would not support her if she voted for a relative, that being said, I was basing my statement on the belief that you were making reference to something other than a third cousin. The simple fact is that Campenni has voted against Sam Aritz on numerous occasions and it is well known that there is no love loss between them. They were the recommended hires according to the education committee and that is who got hired. Had they not been the recommended hire according to the education committee, then you would have room to complain. I again stress my belief that you have a dog in this fight who has hired a brother, sister, wife or nephew and you are making a lame attempt at making every board member look bad. Shame.
By: Ram1 on 4/7/11
Campenni voted for a fellow board member's daughter, so how can she justify campaigning against Nepotism? Sugar coat the bias hiring by agreeing with a politically appointed educational committee. Watchdog1 you must believe in the Tooth Fairy...
Not to nitpick but we should be talking about Aleriegi's wife and brother. Aritz's two daughters. Bolin's sister. Mariannacci's wife. Valenti's assorted crew. DeAngelo's daughter. Not just at WA but in the LIU. These are people who got their jobs through extreme nepotism. Look into the support staff, look at the secretarial pool. Campenni being related to two hires that are third removed in the family tree is stretching it when you can see blatant nepotism exhibited on practically every new hire or promotion within the District.
By: riddlemethisss on 4/8/11
how many board members did campenni make a deal with and then voted for one of their family members....in the last four years...do your history for this answer
By: justice on 4/8/11
There is actually no comparison of Estelle Campenni's vote for Aritz's daughters and the hiring of Aritz's daughters. I can not verify which way she voted; however, it is quite evident that the majority of the present Board do not respect her. It is also evident that the majority who is responsible for the current status of the District. Not one vote on one issue. Anyone who is unhappy with our District and its current status should consider voting against the current majority and remove them. Be careful of voting for an entire ticket; you will end up with another majority. I believe those who run alone will bring their own ideas and opinions to the voting table instead of being ruled by a master. Dr. Campenni ran alone and certainly brought her own ideas and opinions. She is definately not ruled by the Master.
By: pizzagirl on 4/9/11
alberigi, bolin, marionacci and aritz aren't even running and you want to go after them. the good dr.s in trouble. GL with that.
By: jailumall on 4/9/11
Of course they are't running! In only 4 years in office, Aritz and Alberigi secured 5 jobs for their family. These jobs have an ANNUAL price to the taxpayers in excess of $250,000.
Congreatulations and goodbye!
By: justice on 4/10/11
Hey pizza girl, no one has to go after them. They got their reputations all by themselves.
