Bringing back the Garden Village

A representative from FEMA speaks with WP residents
Bringing back the Garden Village
West Pittston took a devastating blow last year with the flooding and many are concerned with its future.
As you drive through the streets of the once beautiful Garden Village, you see vacant businesses along with houses for sale touting “make reasonable offer.”
One cannot help but think can West Pittston recover?
As a lifelong resident of West Pittston I have a vested interest in the recovery and future of the place I call home. Read More ...

Law & code seem to be on Klush's side in lawsuit
As many of you may know Attorney Cynthia Pollick has filed suit against Pittston City and Mayor Jason Klush on behalf of former Pittston City Chief of Police Jeffrey Tayoun.
According to the Times Leader, Tayoun “contends he was unfairly demoted and retaliated against because he reported former officer Robert Semyon to the Attorney General’s Office for allegedly taking sexually explicit photographs of unconscious women who were in police custody.” Read More ...

With Urban in race Holden easily retains seat
So, Luzerne County Council member, past Luzerene County Commissioner, past candidate for Lieutenant Governor, former Republican now Democrat (I think there are a few more) Steve Urban is thinking about running for Congress (chuckle).
This past week, Dave Yonki of LuLac broke this.  Here is what the Yonk had to say:  “That restless political cowboy Steve Urban Senior is looking again to try for another political office. My sources tell me it’s for the job he’s always wanted U.S. Congress. Urban has had his eye on that seat for a long time since he moved back to the area. Urban’s friends (and yes he does have a few) under the Dome are circulating petitions for his run in the new 17th Congressional district. Incumbent Tim Holden and Moosic attorney Matt Cartwright are also in the race.” Read More ...
