NEWS FLASH: Best withdraws from city race, will stay on PA Board
Terry Best has pulled himself off the ballot to run for Pittston City Council.
“With the recent developments at Pittston Area,” Best said, “I think I can do more good on the school board.”
Best, a sitting Pittston Area School Director, won a Democratic nomination in May and said he would resign his seat on the board when he took he seat on Pittston Council.
One thing about politics, it changes like the weather.
There is much speculation who will be appointed to fill the void to replace Best on the fall’s ballot.
A few names have surfaced – Kim Marie Alfano, Joe Chernsokas and Luddy Flemming.
It’ll be up to the Democratic Committee to fill the void.
Tony Paglanati is the Third District Chairman and Best is the City Chairman. Both will be very influential at naming Best’s successor.
